I love the units they work very well. The only problem is that every time the bulb burns out it destroys the unit. After about one year, you are going to have to replace it which basically means about 6 to 8 weeks of downtime(plus the cost of shippings).

Great product. Easy to install, no tools necessary. Good for spaces you don't want to enter in the dark such as storage rooms in basements.

This little appliance makes a big difference. For several years, the pull chain socket in my garage store room has been broken, and even before it was, you had to walk into the room and try to find the chain in the dark. With this - problem solved. I'm very happy with it. When I first put it in, the light coming on was delayed, but thanks to another reviewer's suggestion, I turned the socket slightly and now it comes on instantly every time.

I bought this to use in a walk-in closet and so far it does just what I hoped it would do, which is turn on the light whenever the door is opened.

This product does the job, however, the light must be at a level that is low enough to catch movement. I wanted it at my doorway, however, the light is located higher than 5' so it did not work. First Alert PIR720RN Motion Sensing Light Socket
